SUPPLEMENTARY INFORMATION:
Background
The FAA issued a notice of proposed rulemaking (NPRM) to amend 14 CFR part 39 by adding an AD that would apply to all Gulfstream Aerospace Corporation Model GVI airplanes. The NPRM was published in the
Federal Register
on May 19, 2025 (90 FR 21245). The NPRM was prompted by a determination that new and more restrictive airworthiness limitations are necessary. In the NPRM, the FAA proposed to revise the existing maintenance or inspection program, as applicable, to incorporate new and more restrictive airworthiness limitations. The FAA is issuing this AD to prevent failure of principal structural elements throughout the service life of each part. This condition, if not addressed, could compromise the structural integrity of the airplane.
