A FAA está adotando uma nova diretiva de aeronavegabilidade (DA) para determinados aviões Airbus Canada Limited Partnership Modelo BD-500-1A10 e BD-500-1A11. Esta DA foi motivada por eventos relatados de travamentos do atuador de compensação de estabilizador horizontal (ACEH) ocorrendo ao final da fase de cruzeiro do voo. Esta DA exige lubrificação do ACEH utilizando um método aprimorado, em intervalo reduzido, conforme especificado em uma DA da Transport Canada, a qual é incorporada por referência. A FAA está emitindo esta DA para abordar a condição de segurança inadequada nestes produtos.
The FAA is adopting a new airworthiness directive (AD) for certain Airbus Canada Limited Partnership Model BD-500-1A10 and BD-500- 1A11 airplanes. This AD was prompted by reported events of annunciated horizontal stabilizer trim actuator (HSTA) jams occurring at the end of the cruise phase of flight. This AD requires lubricating the HSTA using an improved method, at a reduced interval, as specified in a Transport Canada AD, which is incorporated by reference. SUPPLEMENTARY INFORMATION: Background The FAA issued a notice of proposed rulemaking (NPRM) to amend 14 CFR part 39 by adding an AD that would apply to certain Airbus Canada Limited Partnership Model BD-500-1A10 and BD-500-1A11 airplanes. The NPRM published in the Federal Register on July 24, 2024 (89 FR 59851). The NPRM was prompted by AD CF-2023-68R1, dated April 30, 2024, issued by Transport Canada, which is the aviation authority for Canada (Transport Canada AD CF-2023-68R1) (also referred to as the MCAI). The MCAI states that there have been reported events of annunciated HSTA jams occurring at the end of the cruise phase of flight.
