A FAA está adotando uma nova Diretiva de Aeronavegabilidade (AD) para todos os motores Safran Helicopter Engines, S.A. (Safran) Modelo ARRIUS 2B2. Esta AD foi motivada por uma revisão pela fabricante de dados coletados de motores em serviço que indicou que o injetor de preferência pode entupir ao longo do tempo causado por coqueificação de combustível, que diminui a permeabilidade do injetor de preferência. Esta AD requer testes iniciais e repetitivos sem extinção para flame-out do motor e substituição do injetor de preferência se necessário, uma modificação única (atualização de software) da unidade de controle eletrônico do motor (EECU) e, para certos motores, substituições repetitivas do injetor de preferência. The FAA is adopting a new airworthiness directive (AD) for all Safran Helicopter Engines, S.A. (Safran) Model ARRIUS 2B2 engines. This AD was prompted by a manufacturer review of collected data from in- service engines that indicated the preference injector may clog over time caused by fuel coking, which decreases the permeability of the preference injector. This AD requires initial and repetitive non- extinguishing tests for engine flameout and replacement of the preference injector if necessary, a one-time modification (software upgrade) of the electronic engine control unit (EECU) and, for certain engines, repetitive replacements of the preference injector.
