SUMMARY: This action amends Class E airspace extending upward from 700 feet above the surface for Mission Hospital McDowell, Marion, NC, by adding airspace for Mission Hospital McDowell Heliport. This action also corrects the name from McDowell Hospital to Mission Hospital McDowell. It also removes Point In Space Coordinates for McDowell Hospital and replaces them with the correct Mission Hospital McDowell coordinates. Controlled airspace is necessary for the safety and management of instrument flight rules (IFR) operations at this airport. DATES: Effective date 0901 UTC, April 17, 2025. SUPPLEMENTARY INFORMATION: Authority for This Rulemaking The FAA's authority to issue rules regarding aviation safety is found in Title 49 of the United States Code. Subtitle I, Section 106 describes the authority of the FAA Administrator. Subtitle VII, Aviation Programs, describes in more detail the scope of the agency's authority. This rulemaking is promulgated under the authority described in Subtitle VII, Part A, Subpart I, Section 40103. Under that section, the FAA is charged with prescribing regulations to assign the use of the airspace necessary to ensure the safety of aircraft and the efficient use of airspace.
