ACTION: Final rule; request for comments. SUMMARY: The FAA is adopting a new airworthiness directive (AD) for all Airbus Helicopters Model EC225LP helicopters. The FAA previously sent this AD as an emergency AD to all known U.S. owners and operators of these helicopters. This AD was prompted by a report of a cracked main rotor hub (MRH) sleeve. This AD requires repetitively inspecting certain MRH sleeves and prohibits installing those MRH sleeves unless the inspection is done, as specified in a European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) AD, which is incorporated by reference. The FAA is issuing this AD to address the unsafe condition on these products. DATES: This AD is effective December 20, 2024. Emergency AD 2024-24-51, issued on November 20, 2024, which contains the requirements of this amendment, was effective with actual notice. The Director of the Federal Register approved the incorporation by reference of a certain publication identified in this AD as of December 20, 2024. The FAA must receive comments on this AD by January 21, 2025.
