ACTION: Final rule; request for comments. SUMMARY: The FAA is adopting a new airworthiness directive (AD) for all The Boeing Company Model 717-200 airplanes. This AD was prompted by a report of cracks found in the rear spar lower cap forward leg and lower aft skin of the right wing, during investigation of a fuel leak. This AD requires repetitive inspections for any fuel leak or crack of the lower aft skins, external doublers, and rear spar lower caps of the left and right wings, and corrective actions and inspection reports if necessary. The FAA is issuing this AD to address the unsafe condition on these products. DATES: This AD is effective November 7, 2024. The Director of the Federal Register approved the incorporation by reference of a certain publication listed in this AD as of November 7, 2024. The FAA must receive comments on this AD by December 9, 2024.
