A FAA está adotando uma nova diretriz de aeronavegabilidade (AD) para determinados aviões da série Model 777-200, 777-200LR, 777-300ER e 777F da The Boeing Company. Esta AD foi motivada por um relato de possíveis falhas latentes dos sistemas de proteção contra raios das linhas de alimentação de combustível dos motores. Esta AD requer inspeções repetitivas e medição de resistência de ligação dos cabos de interligação no primeiro tubo de alimentação de combustível instalado imediatamente à frente do longarina frontal da asa em cada uma das duas localizações de motor, e ações corretivas aplicáveis. The FAA is adopting a new airworthiness directive (AD) for certain The Boeing Company Model 777-200, 777-200LR, 777-300ER, and 777F series airplanes. This AD was prompted by a report of potential latent failures of the lightning protection features for the engine fuel feed system. This AD requires repetitive inspections and bond resistance measurement of the bonding jumpers on the first fuel feed tube installed immediately forward of the wing front spar at each of the two engine locations, and applicable corrective actions.
