ACTION: Final rule; request for comments. SUMMARY: The FAA is adopting a new airworthiness directive (AD) for certain Airbus SAS Model A350-1041 airplanes. This AD was prompted by a report of a production quality escape that could lead to deficiencies in surface protection on several left-hand and right-hand flap support structures. This AD requires a one-time detailed inspection of the affected parts at certain locations for evidence of corrosion or damage to the surface protection, repetitive detailed inspections of the affected parts at certain other locations for evidence of corrosion, and the accomplishment of applicable corrective actions, as specified in a European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) AD, which is incorporated by reference. The FAA is issuing this AD to address the unsafe condition on these products. DATES: This AD is effective September 24, 2024. The Director of the Federal Register approved the incorporation by reference of a certain publication listed in this AD as of September 24, 2024. The FAA must receive comments on this AD by October 24, 2024.
