A FAA está adotando uma nova diretiva de aeronavegabilidade (AD) para certos aviões De Havilland Aircraft of Canada Limited, modelos DHC-8-401 e -402. Esta AD foi motivada por relatos de que, após uma extensão do trem de pouso principal (MLG), um dos trens de pouso principais não pôde ser travado na posição baixada devido à deterioração da efetividade da lubrificação ao longo do tempo. Esta AD exige lubrificação repetitiva do conjunto do trem de pouso principal. A FAA está emitindo esta AD para abordar a condição insegura nesses produtos.
The FAA is adopting a new airworthiness directive (AD) for certain De Havilland Aircraft of Canada Limited Model DHC-8-401 and - 402 airplanes. This AD was prompted by reports that following a main landing gear (MLG) extension, one of the MLGs could not be locked in the gear down position due to deterioration of greasing effectiveness over time.
