SUMMARY: This final rule establishes regulations that conform with the Aircraft Certification, Safety, and Accountability Act, which sets forth statutory requirements to implement regulations for maintenance technician training. Consistent with the statute, this final rule adopts new requirements for issuing aviation maintenance technician school (AMTS) certificates and associated ratings and the general operating rules for the holders of those certificates and ratings. DATES: This rule is effective September 21, 2022, except for amendatory instructions 6 and 9, which are effective August 1, 2023. Comments must be received on or before June 23, 2022. The incorporation by reference of certain publications listed in this rule is approved by the Director of the Federal Register as of September 21, 2022.
