ACTION: Final rule. SUMMARY: The FAA is adopting a new airworthiness directive (AD) for certain ATR-GIE Avions de Transport Régional Model ATR72-212A airplanes. This AD was prompted by a report of an engine electrical control #1 fault during flight caused by chafing damage on an electrical harness bundle. This AD requires modifying the electrical harness routes and de-icing pipe coupling installations, as specified in a European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) AD, which is incorporated by reference. The FAA is issuing this AD to address the unsafe condition on these products. DATES: This AD is effective July 1, 2021. The Director of the Federal Register approved the incorporation by reference of a certain publication listed in this AD as of July 1, 2021.
