SUMMARY: This action establishes Class D and Class E airspace designated as an extension to Class D or E surface area, and amends Class E airspace extending upward from 700 feet above the surface for John C. Tune Airport, Nashville, TN, as a new air traffic control tower shall service the airport. This action also updates the geographic coordinates of the airport, as well as Music City Executive Airport, (formerly Sumner County Regional Airport), Lebanon Municipal Airport, and Murfreesboro Municipal Airport. In addition, this action establishes Class E airspace extending upward from 700 feet above the surface for Vanderbilt University Hospital Heliport, as instrument approach procedures have been designed for the heliport. Controlled airspace is necessary for the safety and management of instrument flight rules (IFR) operations in the area. DATES: Effective 0901 UTC, June 17, 2021. SUPPLEMENTARY INFORMATION: Authority for This Rulemaking The FAA's authority to issue rule regarding aviation safety is found in Title 49 of the United States Code. Subtitle I, Section 106 describes the authority of the FAA Administrator. Subtitle VII, Aviation Programs, describes in more detail the scope of the agency's authority. This rulemaking is promulgated under the authority described in Subtitle VII, Part A, Subpart I, Section 40103. Under that section, the FAA is charged with prescribing regulations to assign the use of airspace necessary to ensure the safety of aircraft and the efficient use of airspace.
