These special conditions are issued for the Safran Helicopter Engines, S.A. (Safran Helicopter Engines), Arrano 1A turboshaft engine model. This engine model will have a novel or unusual design feature when compared to the state of technology envisioned in the airworthiness standards for aircraft engines. This design feature is a 30-minute All Engines Operating (AEO) power rating. The applicable airworthiness regulations do not contain adequate or appropriate safety standards for this design feature.
