Esta ação remove a Rota Aérea de Jato J-590, altera as vias federais VHF Omnidirectional Range (VOR) V-11 e V-70, e estabelece as rotas Area Navigation (RNAV) T-362 e T-365. A FAA está tomando esta ação devido ao descomissionamento planejado da porção VOR da auxíliar de navegação VOR/Tactical Air Navigation (VORTAC) de Greene County, MS (GCV). O VOR de Greene County está sendo descomissionado em apoio ao programa Minimum Operational Network (MON) de VOR da FAA.
This action removes Jet Route J-590, amends VHF Omnidirectional Range (VOR) Federal airways V-11 and V-70, and establishes Area Navigation (RNAV) routes T-362 and T-365. The FAA is taking this action due to the planned decommissioning of the VOR portion of the Greene County, MS (GCV), VOR/Tactical Air Navigation (VORTAC) navigation aid (NAVAID). SUPPLEMENTARY INFORMATION: Authority for This Rulemaking The FAA's authority to issue rules regarding aviation safety is found in Title 49 of the United States Code. Subtitle I, Section 106 describes the authority of the FAA Administrator. Subtitle VII, Aviation Programs, describes in more detail the scope of the agency's authority. This rulemaking is promulgated under the authority described in Subtitle VII, Part A, Subpart I, Section 40103. Under that section, the FAA is charged with prescribing regulations to assign the use of the airspace necessary to ensure the safety of aircraft and the efficient use of airspace. This regulation is within the scope of that authority as it would modify the route structure as necessary to preserve the safe and efficient flow of air traffic within the National Airspace System.
