A FAA está adotando uma nova Diretiva de Aeronavegabilidade (DA) para determinados aviões série Boeing 737-200, -200C, -300, -400 e -500. Esta DA foi motivada por uma avaliação do titular da aprovação de projeto (TAP) indicando que a pele inferior das emendas de sobreposição da pele da fuselagem ao longo da fileira de fixadores inferior de uma certa emenda de sobreposição de reforçador em determinados painéis de pele de estação da fuselagem pode estar sujeita a dano de fadiga generalizada (DFG).
